Nurse's iPhone Tip Could Save Your Life
Did you know that iPhones have a feature that could potentially save your life?
We don’t like to think about emergencies, but unfortunately they do occur sometimes. You just never know what's going to happen to you.
A perfectly healthy person can be suddenly struck by a congenital heart problem they didn't know they had. Or a speeding vehicle can appear out of nowhere and through the combination of a blind spot and a moment's distraction, it's possible to never see it coming. A perfectly normal day can end in tragedy without warning.
I don't say all this simply to frighten you. But it's worth thinking about the plan you have for when something does happen.
Because when your best hope for survival shows up in a wailing ambulance, they're going to need to know some things.
Well, there’s an app called Health to remedy the situation, but you need to set yours up before emergency personnel can access it. Here’s how.The Health icon is a white box with a pink heart in the corner. It looks like this:-
Once you’ve opened the app, you’ll see a menu bar across the bottom of your screen.
At the far-right of the menu is a Medical ID icon. Tap that and enter any necessary emergency information. There are categories such as Medical Conditions, Blood Type, Allergies & Reactions, and Medications, and you can also add your own notes.
Once you’ve entered this information, emergency responders can access it even from a locked screen.
Hopefully you’ll you never need it, but please set up this invaluable tool today. Just in case.
