You have Aadhaar Card. Now you want to update its current address! Do you need to correct name, father name or mobile number? Would you like to change name, gender, date of birth, address or mobile number? well, now it is very easy to Aadhaar card update, change or correct. You have Four ways to do this, but i show you two simpls ways, one is sending an update, correct or change request through online - Second way is request to update or change through post . Here you get complete process for these two ways. If you would follow the below procedure it would be easy to update your aadhaar details.


Note:- Aadhaar Card Correction, Aadhaar Update, Aadhaar Correction or UID Update or even UID Card Correction and Changes to Aadhaar Card – All are the same thing and have the same procedure are mentioned below.


How to change, update or correct Aadhaar card online ?


The 1st option is very easy for Aadhaar Card correction done online. Here is simple step by step procedure:-


Step 1:- You will need a Verified and Registered Mobile Number.

In order to request changes in existing Aadhaar Card one needs to have his/her Aadhaar number ready and also have the existing registered Mobile phone number ready for OTP verification. If you do not have your phone number then you have to update your Aadhaar card by post only.


Step 2:- Visit the official Resident UIDAI Portal using the link given below.

Visit the following link https://resident.uidai.net.in/update-data and click “Update Aadhaar Data” button. See image below.

Step 3:- After you click the “Update Aadhaar Data” button, the below given page will open.

Step 4:- Enter the Details mentioned below and Generate OTP.

Enter your 12 digit Aadhaar card number in given box and the text/digit verification. Click on send OTP. You will now receive a one time password (OTP) as an SMS in your registered mobile number. You can proceed to changing your fields once you enter the correct OTP.
On the Data Update Request page you need to select the changes you wish to make by marking / checking the small boxes next to each field. After making the desired selection (more than one change can be requested at a time), you can proceed to next step by clicking on the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page.

Step 5:- Now Enter the Aadhaar Card Update Details in the relevant fields given – Click “MODIFY”

hmmm.... A new page will now ask the applicant details about the changes desired for example, Address, Name spelling, Mobile number etc. On correctly entering all the details you can proceed to next step by clicking on ‘Submit Update Request’ button. You can select your language as well.
Next, you will be taken to the confirmation page – where all the modifications will be displayed to you. Once you go through all the fields, you can click on the ‘MODIFY’ button.

Step 6: Attach / Upload the Documents to complete your Aadhaar Card Correction and Update Request.

Once you click the ”MODIFY” button, you will be redirected to the page where you must attach the attested soft copy of your proof documents i have mentioned List of Acceptable Doccuments in bottom of this post.
Please note that these documents should accurately support the changes you are want to have on your Aadhaar card and also that they should be self-signed (attested). They can be in PDF, MICROSOFT WORD or IMAGE (png, jpg, bmp, gif, etc.) format. One of the easiest way to do this is get the photo copies of the documents of proof and self-sign it. Download CamScanner app (you can search about it on Google) and it will help you generate scanner-like images of the above mentioned documents of proofs.

Important Things to Note during the Aadhaar Card Update and Correction Process:[At Final Step]

In the Final step, you need to make selection from a list of data processing agencies (BPO’s) designated by UIDAI for the purpose of processing of data. You have the liberty to select the agency with best track record indicated next to their name with a performance chart for early update and response on the modification request.
On successfully submitting the request a Uniform Request Number (URN) shall be generated on screen and also Send to the Aadhaar Card holder through SMS. You can use this URN along with 12 digit Aadhaar Number to check the status of the request for changes in Aadhaar Card by visiting https://ssup.uidai.gov.in/web/guest/check-status .

Method 2 Sending Request Through Post.

You can Update the following data in your Aadhaar card, by sending the change request application through post.
👍 Name.
👍 Address.
👍 Mobile Phone Number.
👍 Gender.
👍 Date Of Birth.
For any other Aadhaar Card correction, you need to visit the nearest Aadhaar Card Kendra / Enrollment centre.


You will also be required to fill up a form and send it with the accurate document proofs (attested). The form can be obtained here – Download Aadhaar Card Data Update or Correction form for Request through POSTAadhar Card updation form

✏ Completely fill in the aadhar data update form and sign at the bottom.
✏ Depending on which information you want to be updated, attach all the self-signed required documents as given in the Valid Documents List attached.
✏ Check the information entered for correctness in English and in the local language. UIDAI will not make any corrections to the data given in your request.
✏ Mention your aadhar number on all the copies ofdocuments submitted.
👍 Send the filled form with all the required documents to one of the addresses given below.
✉ UIDAI Post Box No. 10, Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh-480001,India.
✉ UIDAI Post Box No. 99, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad-500034, India.
✅ Mark the envelope to be sent as “aadhar update/correction” on the envelope top and seal it properly.
✅ You will receive an intimation of the update request receipt when it is received.

How to fill Aadhar Update Form to get Aadhar Card Correction.

✏ Fill the form in Englishas well as in thelocal language which was used during the time of your enrolment in aadhar.
✏ Select all the fields that you want to be updated /corrected. You can also select more than one field. But you will have to fill the entire form irrespective of which field is to be updated/corrected.
✏ Fill thecurrent detailsin the form only and no old details.
✏ Write your full name without any salutations/titles.
✏ Write your complete and full address. The Aadhar letter with your updates willbe delivered only at the given address.
✏ To include your Guardian/ Parent/Spouse ‘s name as part of the address, select the correct box in C/O details and enter the name of the person in the given field. It is not compulsory to provide C/O details with the address.
✏ You are needed to fill the full address and submit supporting documents for the same.
✏ Provide your correct mobile number. You must be available at this given mobile number for any necessary clarifications. The status of the update application will be sent to you by an SMS on this given mobile number.
✏ Check that the details writtenare accurate and complete in English as wellas the local language.
✏ You have to self attest or self sign the required documents. Your name must be clearly mentioned below your signature / thumbprint when you are self attesting the documents.
✏ You do not have to submit all the documents. You only have to submit those documents which are required for the change/ update/ correction.
❗ The aadhar letter with updates will be sent to your address when the update/ correction in name, address, date of birth and gender are processed.
❗ For update of your mobile number, the notification for the update will be sent to the given mobile number.
